Comments:
was aiming for around the 7 minute mark although I had no idea how I would do as I've only been back training for about 5 weeks and it's all been low intensity stuff.

To get 6:38 (2nd place out of my team mates) was good but I didn't feel like I went as fast as I should have, kind of like I was stuck in 4th gear. The plan was to get out of the saddle after the last corner and power through the last 100m to the finish but I had absolutely nothing left by this point so I had to stay seated and just grind my way over the finish line.

I'm more frustrated than anything else with this result because I'm a good climber and would have loved to have gone into this race fully fit but it was just the wrong time of year.

What would I do differently?
Train for it and warm up a little better.  And not collapse in a pile of stinging nettles at the finish!

Event Comments:
Well organised although no event photographer.
