Lake District Trek Our aim was to walk Scafell Pike (highest mountain in England), Helvellyn (3rd highest) and Skiddaw (4th highest) over the course of four days. We walked from campsite to campsite and carried everything in rucksacks. Due to long walking hours and therefore late arrival times at the campsites we also took all of our own food. We travelled from Lichfield to Ravenglass by train then got a steam train along the Eskdale railway. We then hade a short walk to our first campsite. On our second day we walked up Scafell Pike and on to our next campsite. The third day was our longest day in terms of miles and we ended the day with a climb up Helvellyn. The plan for our fourth and final day was to get a bus ride to the base of Skiddaw and then walk up Skiddaw and then into Keswick where we would get a bus to Penrith and then back home on the train. Unfortunately the final day did not end up like this due to a combination of incompetence on the bus drives part and poor weather.
